NYC Coffee Cup necklace

NYC Coffee Cup necklace

$60.00Price

If you've spent time in New York City, you've probably seen this coffee cup!

It's an NYC icon known as the Anthora cup, with its Greek-inspired design.

The original cup features ancient Greek meander patterns (also known as Greek key patterns) along the top and bottom, with illustrations of an ancient Greek amphora in the center.

New Yorkers are known for drinking lots of coffee (though usually not as strong as you might expect!) and carrying a cup while walking around the city.

This little blue-and-white cup has become part of everyday New York life.

For my necklace, I kept the familiar pattern and coffee cup design, but changed the words in the center to “NYC,” using a similar font instead of the original “We Are Happy to Serve You.”

Both the tiny Greek patterns and the letters were quite challenging to cut by hand.

The design is small and narrow, so every little detail took patience.

But now I feel that each necklace has its own character.

That's one of my favorite things about handmade products—each piece has its own little individuality.

I hope you'll be happy with your coffee cup necklace.

And as the original cup says, I'm happy to serve you!

  • Tips for jewelry

    • Do not spray on perfume or other sprays while wearing jewelry.

    • Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear bracelet or necklace.

    • Substances like oil, nail polish, nail polish remover, chlorine, and perfume may react with jewelry and cause it to tarnish. This is also true for sweat, so make sure you remove your  jewelry when you exercise or doing anything requiring heavy work and when swimming.

    • After every use, clean your jewelry with a cotton ball or a very soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt. Gently rubbing the surface of your jewelry using a soft jewelry cloth, helps restore shine.

    • To avoid scratches, wrap your jewelry in a soft cloth after cleaning or keep it in a jewelry box separate from other types of jewelry you have. Small zip-locks work great
