Last weekend, I went to Vogue Knitting Live at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. Compared to previous years, there were fewer vendors and exhibitors, but it was still a big and exciting event for yarn lovers.

One of the things I love most about knitting events is the atmosphere. People come wearing their favorite handmade sweaters, scarves, and accessories. It’s very common for strangers to compliment each other and start conversations — asking about patterns, what yarn was used. It’s such a peaceful and happy environment built around creativity and appreciation.

Of course, I was wearing one of my own knitted sweaters, and several people talked to me about it, which always makes me happy.

There were over 80 vendors at the Marketplace, which was my main destination. In addition to shopping, there was a fiber artists exhibition and several events like talk shows, a yarn toss, and a fashion show. There were also many classes available, although I didn’t take any this time.

Attending events like this always fills me with inspiration. I come home with so many ideas — thinking about future knitting projects, new color combinations, and interesting motifs. I’m sure these inspirations will eventually find their way into my jewelry collections as well.
